Physiotherapy uses manual techniques, postural correction, advice and exercise to restore movement, function and well-being.
Treatment is effective for a wide range of conditions including:
- Joint and muscle pain
- Nerve pain
- Muscle imbalance
- Chronic pain
- Pelvic floor problems
Physiotherapy is also safe and effective during pregnancy and in the postnatal period. It can help you to maintain your normal activities during pregnancy and return to them following the birth.
Physiotherapy is particularly useful for treating:
- Back and neck pain
- Sciatica and other nerve pain
- Pelvic girdle and hip pain
- Chronic pelvic pain
- Stretched, or separated abdominal muscles
- Pelvic floor (bladder, bowel & prolapse) problems
At the initial assessment I will take a full case history and also examine you. If you have a back problem or pelvic girdle pain this may involve undressing down to your underwear so that I can fully assess your problem. Let me know if you prefer not to do this. We will make a treatment plan and agree goals for the treatment.
